A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per bend sinister Azure, and in base fussily in bend Argent and Celeste, a bend sinister Gules, thereon a two handed sword point to chief of the second, blood groove of the fourth, issuant from sinister chief a lion rampant reversed Proper grasping a polestar of the same; all within a narrow bordure Silver. Beneath the shield is a curved Black scroll inscribed FIRMITUS AUXILIUM in Silver letters.
The fussily in bend represents the Bavarian origins of the Battalion and the civilian workforce. The red bend sinister signifies branch colors for Support. The two-handed sword symbolizes the Battalions capability as a force multiplier to support and protect the force. The red blood groove in the sword represents the wounded and ultimate sacrifice made in defense of our country. The lion alludes to Golden Lion or Bavarian Lion of the Palatinate in particular the Upper Palatinate in the state of Bayern and represents the units distinctive European heritage and mission focus. The polestar signifies unwavering commitment. The four cardinal points on the polestar emphasize the Battalions worldwide mission and the ethical, moral and legal path the unit pledged to follow.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 1 October 2013.
